365-Day Project: Day 7 - 21 Day Fix Workout Program

For the past 20 years I've had a love and hate relationship with working out. My workouts usually entail at home workout video sessions, running, hiking, riding a stationary bike and weights. I enjoy workouts that incorporate variety and that's why I prefer doing workout videos. Are there days that I don't feel like working out, heck yes, but once I do it, I'm glad I pushed myself and feel a sense of accomplishment.


I have been through a lot of heartache the past two years and have still continued to workout but not as hard as I usually do, especially this past year. I've always been slim and petite but it's surprising how putting on an extra 5 to 10 pounds from my ideal weight can make such a difference on my body and not in a good way. As I've gotten into my 40s I've been surprised to see how quickly I can gain 5 pounds if I slack off on my workouts. I'm a foodie and for the most part I eat pretty healthy but I still don't deprive myself from eating foods I enjoy. I'm a believer you can still eat what you love as long as it's in moderation, I know this does not work for everyone but I'm fortunate that it still works for me for now.


So one of my 2021 goals is to do at least 6 workout programs in one year. I signed up for a $99 annual membership with Beachbody which gives me access to over 1500 workout videos, lots of workout programs and some nutritional recipes. My first workout program is the 21 Day Fix. Today was day 1. One down, 20 days to go! Let's see how the next 20 days go...can't wait to see what results I get out of it!!
