Breckenridge may be a popular place to visit during winter but it is just as fun and has a lot to

offer during the summer. If you're too busy to research what to do or just not a big fan of planning, here are a few ideas for you.

WHERE TO STAY?

Breckenridge can be a pricey place for accommodations, a great deal I discovered is the Bivvi (Bivouc) Hostel.

I was actually quite impressed with their accommodations and amenities. Their bed and bed sheets were very cozy and comfy and I loved waking up to seeing the Aspens through my window view with the sunrays highlighting its leaves.

I was also impressed on how immaculately clean they kept the entire place. Their rooms include a locker large enough to fit a couple of backpacks or a small suitcase, they also offer a jar full of free disposable earplugs and a free towel. If you pick the bottom bunk you'll have extra storage where you can store shoes or other items.

One great advantage was having an electric outlet with USB plugs on my bed railing where I could charge my electronic devices while keeping them close to me. Another plus...their shower comes with soap, shampoo and conditioner dispensers.

Another great advantage is their location, there is a free bus stop just around the corner from the Bivvi that will take you wherever you need to go around Breckenridge. But if you don't wish to wait on the bus, you're just a 10 minute walk to downtown Breckenridge.

One of my favorite experiences here was enjoying my free included breakfast each morning while sitting around at their communal table and sharing fun adventure stories with other guests.

WHERE TO EAT?

The Canteen - They have a nice outdoor patio area, cool ambiance and great happy hour. Their queso fundido is a must have, quite filling and large enough to share with a few friends.

Kava Cafe - If you have a sweet tooth like myself then check out Kava and enjoy their fresh, hot and made on the spot mini donuts. You can choose from 3 flavors (cinammon sugar, maple brown sugar or powdered sugar) but you can also mix and match.

Grab a half dozen for $3.50 or a full dozen for $5.00. Be warned, they are super yummy and you may find yourself having this treat every day you're day...it became my morning ritual.

Giampetro - If you're looking for an inexpensive lunch option then Gaimpetro is one great option. Their New York style (my favorite) one slice pizza is huge and a slice of just plain cheese pizza will only cost you $2.60 plus tax.

Pho on Mainew restaurant in town and was highly recommended to me from the locals. Their Pho was very savory, filling and affordable...their size small dish was a pretty decent size. - Yes, I'm that crazy person who will eat a Pho dish (Vietnamese soup) even it's 100 degrees outside. Pho on Main is a n

HOW TO GET AROUND?

Free Bus Ride - Take advantage of the free bus rides around town and it even takes you to downtown Frisco. Make sure to grab one of their route maps, but you can also ask your driver when to get off for specific locations you are heading to. The bus times are also displayed at each of their bus stops.

Free Gondola Ride - Take the free gondola ride to the top of the mountain to the Breckenridge Ski Resort area and capture some amazing views along the way. There is a nearby bus stop to the Gondola, about a one block walk, just ask the driver where you need to get off and in what direction you need to head towards for the Gondola. You'll also see signs around downtown showing you which way to the Gondola.

THINGS TO DO:

Blue River - After strolling around town this is one place in downtown Breckenridge to stop to relax and cool down, sit on one of the boulders while soaking up your feet in the river and taking in the beautiful gardens and pedestrian bridges nearby. Great spot to people watch too :)

Tumble Bubbles - For just $10 have a fun time tumbling around in the water, great for kids or grown ups if you want to feel like a kid again...

Hike - Hit up one of the many trails around Breckenridge, especially the trails up in the Ski resort area, best to take the Free Gondola to the top and then pick a trail from there.

Continental Divide Winery - Named "the world's highest altitude winery" at a 10,361 elevation. Enjoy a 4 flight wine tasting of white and red wine options for just $12 and for $5 include a plate of grapes.

FEW TIPS:

Information Center - You can fill up your empty water bottles at their downstair's water bottle fountain and they also have a public restroom.

Oh Fudge Ice Cream - Get a kiddie size ice cream for just $2, it's large enough to satisfy your ice cream craving and the best part...you won't feel guilty afterwards.
